Senior Networking Consultant – HPC & AI platforms

Based in Germany – Remote

Contract or Permanent – Salary is negotiable 

Desired key core technical Competencies

• HPC Networking design: Capability to design complex ultra-low latency and high bandwidth networking for HPC and AI architectures, including hardware and the related management software, in collaboration with a HPC consultant leader and other experts in the different areas.
• HPC Networking Architectures: Deep knowledge of Compute networks used in HPC such as InfiniBand, high-speed Ethernet, RDMA, and advanced networking topologies for HPC clusters and Be able to determine the best option and design in each case.
• General Networking architectures: Deep knowledge of general-purpose networking architectures, required for the management of storage networks of a HPC or AI
• Networking Performance optimization: Familiarity with network tuning for MPI workloads, and AI environments.
• Networking Ecosystem Management: Ability to interact effectively with leading networking vendors vendors (e.g. Nvidia/Mellanox, HPE/Juniper, Cisco, Arista)
• HPC Software: Understand the overall HPC and Ia environemts, and the possible impact of MPI, job schedulers (e.g. Slurm), containerization, AI frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) and other systems management tools (such as Open Nebula or similar ones) when designing the networking infrastructure,
• Storage: Understand the impact of Parallel file systems (Lustre, GPFS), NVMe, tiered storage, and data lifecycle management when designing the networking
• Presales Engagement: Create and maintain a trusted technical relationship with customers and business partners to collaborate and lead the networking solution design. Conduct proof-of-concept (PoC) and demonstrations to validate solutions.
• Communications: Provide technical presentations communicated in a proper way considering the audience.
• Cloud & Hybrid HPC: Familiarity with the Integration of on-prem HPC networking with cloud-based HPC/AI systems.

• Partner with sales teams to identify customer needs and propose tailored HPC and AI networking
• Establish a trusted technical relationship with the customers and partners to position our clients capabilities and ensure that its added value is properly
• Maintain a thorough understanding of our proposals and our competitor’s strengths and
• Lead the networking design of HPC and AI Infrastructures in a project, including:
  • Building the technical solution based on the project
  • Supporting the technical aspects of the projects and providing the required technical documentation (e.g. complete architecture diagrams, BOMs, and cost estimates for HPC/AI networking deployments, etc..)
• Partner with the main technical stakeholders such as other specialized presales teams and third party providers, partners and alliances (e.g. Supermicro, Nvidia/Mellanox, AMD, HPE/Juniper, other storage and software providers…) to define the adequate architectures in each case.
• Partner with the services teams to ensure that the right deployment and delivery needs are included in the proposals.
• Organise technical workshops and demos showcasing performance and scalability
• Manage PoCs and benchmarking for AI training and HPC networking

Desired Professional Background

• Experience: 5+ years in HPC networking roles with global
• Education: Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related
• Certifications: Networking certifications (CCNP, Mellanox Certified) and HPC fundamentals are highly valued.
